Yeah, but the thing about Rorschach is that his idolization of Truman wasn't actually born out of any kind of principles.
It was because the only thing Rorschach, or rather Kovacs, knew about his father was that he liked Harry Truman. Kovacs' mom was an abusive cunt who treated him like shit, and so he made up this positive image of his father to cling onto. His idolization of Truman was really just an extension of that.

He's honestly a deeply tragic character. He had his flaws for sure, but he was ultimately a broken man who was neglected and discarded by society
