Then again anon here >>534527256 has a point; should Nintendo have truly wanted to give Peach a better portrayal and her being more active in adventures, they could have made anything up to make it happen, even do something as simple as making her playable more often, or post-game after getting rescued. But instead they ran the Damsel in Distress trope to the ground for half the franchise existence, way past the trope's expiration date and gave Peach the stigma we deal with today... and it all could have been AVOIDED just fine. I just think of the timeline in which Peach was playable in New Soup, Galaxy and Odyssey and I get pissed off, man...

Yeah, I know as much and its specially sad for Peach's case because we had seen that japanese portrayal several times before, the sweet and girly albeit hot-headed and feisty princess portrayal fits Peach like a charm.
