Saying "it's complicated" takes us nowhere since you don't show up how it's compared and it just makes you seem uninterested or lazy, both of which are detestable traits
Your worldview does not allow any points to be right except for what you personally propose, which leads always to an "i'm always correct" attitude: I've been there myself
Rationality is not based on emotions, rather, it is what "we" are, as Descartes puts it: i doubt things, which shows I'm thinking—and if I'm thinking, i must exist(action requires a subject). It’s a conclusion based on logic, not feelings, thus it cannot be that rationality is based on feelings. Now, i don't exactly subscribe to this perfectly, since it's not based in theology, but he's right in his reasoning.
To say it[rationality] is based on emotions is wrong, but if you mean to say what Hobbes does in his writings, that reason is slave to the passions, then that i would better agree with.
