There is one marriage only, any other unconventional option is inferior and pitiful
In a true marriage, the husband and the wife play different roles in the family unit(even before having children): the man is the provider and the selfless bearer of burdens and the wife is the caretaker and headservant of the house, submitting to the husband always. In this arrangement blessed by God, each person of the union has their share of responsibility FOR THE SAKE OF THE OTHER. This arrangement only works if the two act as one body, otherwise they shouldn't be married in the true sense of the word.
What happens when the formal marriage arrangement is not kept? Well, if the wife is given more of the husband's duties then he will no longer be the sole burden bearer, as she too will now have her own personal burdens. And due to these burdens, the wife will also cease being the headservant of the house, as she is now doing(in part or just as much) what solely the husband ought to do. This creates a union where the two people try to equally contribute to the relationship, though it is impossible, for man is made for certain duties and women for other duties, only being one whole when acting as one. People are not meant to do everything on their own, if so, we would not have true marriage given to us by God. But because God created man and woman differently, they also have different roles to play, each according to their nature: this is only carried out in a way blesses by God when each part does their respective share of duties; duties which don't overlap in kind, but which differ, though they all(in a true marriage) bring about good fruit for each of the two spouses, given that they're done for the sake and out of the love for the other.
This all is able to properly, and perhaps fully, explain why this marriage is how it is.
