This was a big reason for SU fans disliking SU Future - after several seasons of elaborating on secondary characters and turning them into fan favourites, Sugar proceeded to reorient post-finale season around Steven Universe, leaving those characters with very little screentime. That was one of my big fears for Gumball's 7th season and it's sad to see it come true before my eyes.
