i didn't play the first one but i played 2 because the general consensus is it fixed literally every problem with 1 and is better in every way, most people say 1 is impossible to play if you played 2 first because it's such a downgrade. not liking 1 but loving 2 is a pretty common opinion
not sure what your issue is with 1 but i think 2 is worth playing even if you hated it
