The sun shines down brightly on a beautiful day. Birds chirp in the distance. It’s 9 o’clock in the morning, on the most anticipated day of the year for schoolchildren all around the country. It’s the start of summer vacation!

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

“I’m off to work, autist. Don’t be a dumbass, and don’t burn down the house.”

Clover blearily yawns, kicking her wolf-themed blanket off the bed and stretching her arms far above her mess of black hair, as her brother’s footsteps stomp away from her bedroom door. She’d stayed up way too late, grinding exp on Wolf Quest Online, and now the morning was way too bright.

As she mumbles and squirms around on the now-blanketless and cold bed, she realizes that waking up this early means she can grind even more! The Lycaonic Nightblade skill-tree just had three more nodes to go! With a deep breath to steel herself against the morning light, she jumped out of bed, nearly tripping on the blanket.

Clover brushes her teeth quickly, watching the awesome girl with wolf-ears (fake) and a wolf-tail (belt) in the mirror. While her instincts would have been to immediately hop onto her shitty laptop, mom always said every morning needs a brush and breakfast, and mom was always right. She just had to go quickly!

As she rushes out of her room, she notices her dad snoring on the couch, beer bottle in hand.
“Good morning, Dad!”
The man continues to snore.
