I've seen a take that said Zele is planning to pass a law that would equate corruption to treason during wartime, and with that kind of law leaving those anti-corruption bodies independent would be too much of a risk. But obviously this kind of move will protect the ruling party from any kind of prosecution which people did not like to say the least.
