Sometimes the city will put on a fireworks show but hasn’t happpened for a few years because “muh colonialism.” Leftists had the fireworks shows shut down and said anyone who celebrates Canada Day supports genocide and colonialism. But they are a small minority and even normie liberals celebrate Canada Day. This year there is more “Canadian Patriotism” because of the anti-American sentiments so more people are out drinking and celebrating than usual. Some folks will light their own fireworks in various neighbourhoods and it always sounds like a war zone lol Canada Day is basically 4th of July for Canadians.
