Not true, as it applies to CNN, NBC (or also MSNBC). These networks were opposed to yellowcake story which led into the second gulf war; but went along with it in the end (in my opinion) for two reasons...

In the end though, I think the left-leaning media didn't want to miss out on what would become the big media story/event of the decade. On the day Bush's deadline ran out, MSNBC went as far as to run a countdown clock with livestreams from potential target locations. I recorded a bunch of it from the TV, see image
