I've been here since 2004 and it gave me very important insight to how utterly fucked up the world and the internet can be.
It made me aware of the real human nature very quickly and nothing has surprised me when fucked up things have popped up.
Nowadays it's the only place where you'll find rampant racism and that's necessary for young developing mind to be able to engage in.
It can be very useful in opening people's eyes from early on.
You'll also develop a shitton of weird fetishes which is pretty cool.

However the big downside is that this is a gigantic time sink, that will plunge you into a deep negative mindspace the moment you open it.
I guess it's the same as twatter and these other places nowadays though.
This site used to be a lot more fun oriented +15 years ago, as the internet was far less political and didn't have so many normies in it, so it wasn't so hard on your psyche.
