This optic doesn't make much sense to me. Not the weak regime part, that's pretty clear, but the nuke part.
Pakistan is a fucking shithole full of smelly jeets, but hard line islamists and openly anti-Israel. Much more vocal than Iran about their anti-zionist stance.
Yet they got nukes since the 90s, and started their uranium enriching in the 70s.

So why can't Iran achieve what Pakistan did decades ago already? Why is it so problematic if Iran get nukes but somehow nobody cares about Pakistan having those for 30 years?
And finally, why would it be any different? Pakistan never used their A-bomb, even tho they are seething at India all day long. Why would Iran be so much more of a threat?

Make zero sense to me...
