It appears the exact opposite is happening. Islam is growing in Spain and people are peacefully converting to Islam.

Spain has a rich Islamic history and so do their descendants in the New World. This is why the Spanish language has so many Arabic words.

As someone who knows Spanish and studies Arabic there is a lot of crossover.
