People go to Las Vegas to do what they are told or expected to do. It's a fun, interesting and relatively inexpensive place to go unless you go there to gamble, go to shows, drink or go on buffet crawls. There's a ton of other stuff to do and places to go. It's easy to get around, the backdrop can be beautiful and nearby is Zion, Death Valley, Laughlin, Lake Mead, etc.
