>when i use physical paint, i still have to make the painting.
You also have to work the brushes and the physical properties of your chosen paint to get the exact texture and width of brush stroke that you want
>when i use digital paint, i still have to make the painting.
You no longer have to do any of that, photoshop brush algos do it for you
See how easy it is?
For the record I'm not saying 99% of AI gens aren't worthless shit some jeet did without any effort, but it's crazy to act like a tool isn't a tool because it's convenient. Yes, it's mostly about wrestling the programs, algo and prompts to create something cool. No, that doesn't mean it's not a creative pursuit. Just like photography, where you do 0 painting yourself and instead it's about wrestling the camera and finding the perfect composition and angles. It's still art, and it never replaced manual art. Rather people often mix the two. Some people even find inspiration from real imagery, pic related.
So is every photograph or AI gen art? Obviously not. But refusing to acknowledge that it can be because the vast majority of people use it for low effort throwaway shit isn't a defensible viewpoint.
