Saying that, you saw that the interior seemed like a chaotic blend of said steampunk and traditional styles.
Guided by some guards, you and the rest of the kitsune (both dead and alive) accompany you to a meeting room. There you find an assortment of different fox-people, with varying shades of hair color and numbers of tails, all murmuring to each other.
But as soon as they saw you, a silence rippled through the kitsune present.
Thankfully this didn't last long, as Hisashi broke the silence and said something in Japanese — signalling the beginning of the the meeting.
A few familiar faces greeted you, the most notable being Youta, Kazuhiro, and Yami— all of the Yasuda family, in charge of dealing with loans and general money making. Though they hid it well, you could tell they seemed frustrated about something as they glanced between you and Hisashi.
On the Mitsubishi side, you also found two guys whispering with Hisashi. They would introduce themselves as Tamotsu and Daisuke, the former being Hisashi's son and the latter Hisashi's brother— effectively making them your brother in-law and your uncle respectively.
But there wasn't any time to getting to know each other. The was a system to things, and that system was in Japanese— known as Oceannese in this universe. Still, Japanese was a language whose knowledge you only had of of thanks to all the Japanese shit you used to watch.
A few things were said in Common, however.
Whispers and mistrustful glances towards you began to become a common theme. But this didn't last long, as you noticed Hisashi taking out the crystal that had his wife in it.
Sumiko emerged from there, giving the air a chill as she floated by Hisashi's side. She would, with a surprising amount of sincerity, give her blessing to you, and to the union between you and Ayane.
And just like that, she'd return to the crystal Hisashi had in his hand.
Most struggled to keep their surprise from showing on their faces, though Eisho and Ai seemed completely unfazed.The rest seemed to see you in a different light. More than once you hear a "If a woman like Sumiko could accept this human, then how could we not?"
After that was done with, discussion soon erupted from Kazuhiro and Yami. Both men spoke about some plans they had for the future, alleging that they found a method to, almost literally, "create money out of cheap talismans". While some voiced their doubts, you wondered what they might actually mean by that.
The meeting was over soon enough, and you said your goodbyes to all the busy kitsune except one.
Ayane would, on your way back to the castle, tell you all that happened in the meeting — There was some worry about the future, and uncertainty over how a the current shipping ventures were going to turn out, and Hisashi defending his own 'fruitless' trip to Northrensjor by speaking about how he was able to get a trade deal set up between the company and one of the local towns up there.
