People who feel the need to deflect greater issues or insert themselves is not exactly healthy or respectful in my view. Every so often someone will say something to the effect of "no offense, but *insert negative thing about men*" and it's interesting to see some people try to defend or divert that when it isn't actually an attack on YOU, the individual but a common thread.
Doesn't matter if you personally have never called a woman a cunt or refused service to a black dude in a Burger King, the fact that it has happened overrules your personal perception or individual actions.
