Saeko would be better if it was a cheapo amateurish RPG Maker game.
I'm being completely serious.
Nothing in the premise needs good fancy graphics to work. A few pictures of Saeko for the events would've been fine, hell you could just AIslop and tweak them today.
Not having to do le epic nostalgic 2000s pixel art aesthetic for no reason other than supposed market appeal (?) would free the devs to do more with the base concept, add more characters and way, way more variability in scenarios and endings.
Seriously, it's AAA games that are supposed to be tiny slaves to their big flashy unwieldy graphics limiting their freedom. If you let your indie game fall into this trap, you did something wrong
