Gacha isn't important, but make sure to get Wellkin, it's basically free to play and the game is balanced around it. BP too, since you're just starting out and don't have resources. It's still f2p don't worry. Oh and the gem pack bonus resets every year on anniversary, so as long as you only buy them once a year its still f2p.
