No fucking content and dogshit mod support, even now. Chivalry had a fuckton of absolutely enormous, diverse maps with diverse objectives, meaning different gameplay every time, AND fantastic mod support. You could play all week and see certain maps only once or twice, because there was so much variety.

6 years after release mordhau now has 9 "large" maps, with several of those being super linear and cramped. They wasted tons of time and effort on their stupid horde mode, ranked mode, a bunch of duel and deathmatch maps no one but sweaty losers cares about, etc. And the mod support is fucking dogshit, they hyped it up a ton but its ass, could have saved the game but the devs probably neutered it out of spite because they didnt want to get outcompteted.

It also had a fantastic community that they completely butchered. When Mordhau launched the chats genuinely felt like the old internet, everyone was completely free in what they said, slurs were thrown, trash was talked, but everyone was having FUN. Then like 3 or 4 fags bitched about it so they clamped down on chat and added hideous women fighters that completely ruin the immersion.

The core gameplay is fantastic, the customization, weapon/armor variety etc, all great. At launch it really did feel like a spiritual successor to Chivalry, but they did fuckall for post launch support and completely shit on their community for talking trash and having fun like they did in Chivalry. Upsetting.

Is Chiv 2 any good?
