well, the problem is the context window
you need to run the model plus the context window, which can get quite large
so the same model with a 32K context window takes a lot more RAM than with a smaller 8K context window
this is why only large companies can offer undiluted, non-quantized models with a 250K+ context window (1M in case of gemini)
(at least it was like this a few months back, this shit advances way too quickly)
