I think because there's usually this paternal aspect on the side of the male writers. They project a lot of their own masculinity onto their "daughter" whereas before they viewed all women as weak whores. Every dad fantasy that wants his daughter to be this kind of not-like-the-other-girls alpha tomboy, because in that case a rare degree of empathy exists, but also he semi self-inserts as her and has this fear of a situation where she submits to a man or something.
But then you know, these "dads" don't break the rules entirely. Because they still always tend to enforce this heteronormative dynamic where their daughter (clone of themselves) is the masculine top figure conquering other lesser girls.
