Location: An ethereal hall shimmering with the light of liberty and revolution. Seated around a grand round table are the champions of the New World’s independence — Bolívar, Washington, Jefferson, Morazán, O’Higgins, San Martín, Dom Pedro I, Güemes, and Santander. Suddenly, Lionel Messi appears in a modern Inter Miami training kit, a ball at his feet, yet his tone carries the gravity of history.

Messi:
(rising to speak, with a calm fire in his voice)
Mis hermanos… patriots of freedom, dreamers of the New World. I stand before you not as a king, not as a general, not even as the GOAT — but as a soldier. A soldier of fútbol. And the battlefield now… is the 2025 Club World Cup.

Jefferson (adjusting his coat, intrigued):
And who dost thou face, Señor Messi?

Messi:
Paris Saint-Germain. PSG. A creation of the petro-monarchs. An artificial kingdom fueled by petrodollars and shirt sales. They are not a team — they are an empire of illusion. No soul. Just oil and algorithms.

Washington (nodding solemnly):
Then you must strike for independence once more. This is no different than crossing the Delaware, Leo. Surprise them. Strike fast. Play free.

Bolívar (pounding the table):
Enough of Europe’s arrogance! For centuries they have seen us as colonials — in football, in history, in culture. But from Caracas to Kansas, from Rosario to Rio, the fire of liberty burns. You must remind them that the spirit of the Americas is not for sale!

San Martín (calm and focused):
Tactics win battles, Messi. How will you break them?

Messi:
Through the midfield — PSG don’t press with conviction. Busquets anchors us. Suárez may be older, but he bites when it matters. And the kids? They play like they're born on sacred soil. No fear. We’ll suffocate their backline, press Donnarumma, and catch them sleeping.

In the wake of the Old World's demise in football I think we can admit this Penaldo diss has NEVER been more relevant

The American hemisphere is forever superior to the Old World when it comes to the sport of soccer. Brazil has proven that this last week.

Welcome home, Messi. Welcome back the New World:
