its crazy that ai has only exacerbated the issue. even before ai, the amount of people becoming lazy, asking for source on things increased even as tools like reverse search became a thing. how often do you see a person asking for source only for them to get either no response or one hours later when they just could have used reverse search and 99% time it can be found instantly. it makes no sense. is it bots? i don't know. theres so many ways to find answers if only people are willing to dig. but they're not willing lol
