Base human instincts and civilisation do not go together

All of society, from the very beginning has been founded upon the idea of repressing and controlling those animalistic instincts.

At heart all men want to rape, murder, steal, lie, cheat, and that is what all animals in the wild do.
All vices were once virtues, but not in civilisation, only in the wild.
Civilisation is about being civilised.
The very concept of original sin is our inner cavemen conflicting with our newfound sense of civility, the desire to fit in to society fights against our inner animal instinct

And for women, being civilised means being modest and selecting only for the most civilised mates, not opening your legs for the most barbarous.

There is nothing natural about civilisation, it is why we suffer, why we are depressed, but these are tradeoffs for the benefits that civilisation brings about, namely safety and abundance.
