Minas is a huge state with the second largest population in the country. It's a geographically, economically, and culturally diverse region like perhaps none other in Brazil.
It's not that Juiz de Fora, Poços de Caldas, Uberaba or Montes Claros are less mineiro than Ouro Preto or Ipatinga. We just have very inaccurate expectations of what mineiro culture is supposed to be like.
