I can definitely imagine Koizumi being frustrated during Sighs seeing Kyon not handle Haruhi... But on the other hand he also enabled her, the only difference being that Kyon is the one Haruhi will listen to. The talk between Koizumi and Kyon in Sighs 5 is one of my favorite scenes, and I still don't understand why they showed drunk guys on the street in it.
