No, it makes perfect sense when you actually do an analysis on the west and realize how vastly uneducated the majority of them are.
The fact their majority still votes in favor of large corporations and government control, should be a tell. So it makes perfect sense that they can no longer compete in anything competitive that requires educational/social investment.
