I've been working on beefing up my "progressive" credentials with the school administrators for almost 10 years now. I can't just turn back around on that, especially when they know me quite well by now. It's a routine we all do where we all virtue signaling publicly about what we believe in as if being super woke is just the mainsteam objective position. I already dress more professionally than others to portray myself as someone who can be considered seriously for career advancement. If I stop wearing that little badge, they'll assume I dress more professionally because I am a "fascist." I'm not kidding. If that's what they think, they'll find any petty excuse not to promote me or to fire me. I'm not risking it. I have not spent this much time here to ruin it all.
