the next Fromsoft game needs to make big efforts to have NPCs that aren't actual objects, the concept of "oh you gotta rest on the bonfire twice to advance the questline" or "oh he moves to another area when you kill this boss" is so cancer and stupid that I don't know how they've tolerated it so much up until now.

They don't have to make hyper advanced wandering NPCs but surely there's more reasonable ways to make NPCs that feel more alive and not such obvious video game programmed events.
