mom quit working once she had kids, had dad pay for full time daycare while she sat at home and watched TV... she would refuse to pick us up from school because it would have interfered with her soap operas... the only days i didn't have to walk home 2-3 miles in shit midwest weather was when the soap opera was a re-run

she volunteered us to do a paper route which meant we couldn't play any after school sports, and couldn't have sleepovers on weekends with friends... when we had a rare snow day at high school, she would call our employer and volunteer us to come in and work

she was a hoarder who never cooked or cleaned and got fat eating chocolate, the entire house was so full of toys and other hoarded bullshit that no one ever wanted to come over, and if we tried to relocate them she would throw a fit... as an adult when she visits she looks in my trash to see what i am throwing away and takes it out saying shit like "it's only 3 days past the sale by date, why are you throwing it out?"

i chose a college on the other side of the country and have spent my entire adult life out here
