You close your fingers around it, not too hard, but as you do you feel it slip away quicker, twisting out of your grasp. She's not walking away that fast, right? As quick as you can, you reach for it, before it snaps away, just out of your finger's reach. You swipe again to the side, and it reels back. With your open hand, it is now out of reach, and you'd have to run forward to just catch up.

The tip of her tail bobs in the air teasingly, almost as if giving you a little dismissive wave. Better luck next time! it seems to say. You look ahead, sweating, and see Ophia continuing to walk away with her head held high. She didn't even have to turn around to dodge your grip. Or did she even have to do it on purpose? It was like her tail had a mind of its own, effortlessly graceful, and always keeping itself tantalizingly just out of your reach. You watch Ophia disappear down the hall, a confident swagger in her step as she practically glides along the floor.
