The far right’s embrace of Zionism is a marriage of convenience, not conviction — they see Israel as a useful ally against Islam and immigration, a shield against accusations of antisemitism, and a shortcut to mainstream legitimacy. But beneath the surface, it’s a contradiction: Zionism represents the multinational global power structures, medias, finance, and foreign wars the far right claims to reject. In the end, they’re fighting their “enemy” by partnering with what they once called the source of it.
So the question is: how long can an alliance built on mutual instrumentalization hold before the contradictions tear it apart?
