Yes. There are species of parasites that have evolved alongside humans for millions of years. Their entire life cycle occurs inside of our bodies, we are their whole universe. Their reproductive cycle involves laying eggs in our digestive system, which are deposited in our feces. These eggs need to re-enter our digestive system, which means they need to get from feces (soil) to our mouth somehow. These species are called "soil-transmitted helminths". To propagate their species, they have evolved to compel us to engage in unsanitary behaviours that increase the chance that their eggs in our feces will end up in the mouths of another human.
This is the same reason we don't eat with our hands.
