It goes back to his childhood. Without stable parental figures, he lacked a secure environment and formed a desire for control as a defense mechanism. This is why he fears commitment as well. And why the girl he trusts the most has to be his slave. It also explains his constant impulsive actions (asserting control) and why he runs away if a girl is too aggressive or affectionate. If his control over any situation is threatened he feels like he's in danger.
The sexual aspect merely applied itself on top of his existing craving for control, after he had his control stolen away in a sexual fashion. He likely also has repressed desires to have sex with his mother.
