Being friendless when you're 20 is not the same as being friendless when you're 70+.
Look at the woman in OP. She's old as hell.
I'm nearly 40 and I can already tell you that most of my friendships have drifted apart near to nothingness. People get married, have kids, people fall into their work and stop talking. Your friendships become "just touching base" and eventually they just disintegrate entirely.
This lady's friends are probably all dead, or live hundreds of miles away. She's probably a very lonely elderly person, ignored by her children, neglected and left on her own. Probably a widower.
Zoomers have no idea what it's like to get old and they have no sympathy for the elderly. But they'll learn as their parents get old and their grandparents die, the same as we learned going into our 30s and 40s.
Life is hard and it just gets harder.
