One thing history has shown time and time again is that people prefer convenience over most other things. As pic related shows while Illustrious and NoobAI may be more technically capable models, WAI looks good by default. Most people probably prefer to just click a button and get something that looks good rather than work on a prompt to fix issues and improve style and such.
