Yeah, one problem with that: you aren't seeing them with "more definition", you're seeing an approximation with an entirely different art style and rendering method, with some assets that were changed completely because they didn't have the original renders to work off of and instead had retards saying "uhh I think it's supposed to be this" and running with it. There are a few cases where portraits, especially for zerg, aren't even anatomically correct because they interpreted nose holes as eyes and other shit. To say nothing of the environments.
