Gacha is just gambling though. However, unlike gambling which you at least have the chance to receive tangible rewards from, gacha gives you nothing but, to put it nicely, jpg and text. Which will only last a few years, those servers don't last forever and while our Lord Ross can save newer games from going offline forever, it won't impact gachas of the current year.

It's unhealthy, unethical, and the time spent with it can be better spent in other places. There are real games to play. Or new skills to educate yourself with. Or, if it must be passive entertainment, animes to watch.

I recently took the time to educate myself by reading the book trilogy that inspired Mother 3. It shook me to my core with profound examinations of familial relations and how trauma impacts one another, while also letting me reexamine Mother 3 to understand what influences Itoi took from the books, how he remixed and changed elements, and how they ultimately work to create a new story. By understanding both the comparisons and contrasts, I have a new respect for not just the game but for how artists can create and build off of the works of others. All culture is like that, in truth.
