At Cirno's suggestion, they had taken to the air and began combining the footbag with their various forms of Danmaku attacks. Several new holes were created in the boards shortly thereafter until the Ice Fairy managed to fling one of the sacks far too deep into the woods for retrieval. The Fairies had decided it was time to start settling down for the night anyways, everyone coming together for a series of Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine who would be staying up to protect Renko first. Eventually, the rotation was determined to be Star, Luna, Daiyousei, Sunny and Cirno switching off every 1-to-2 hours. Everyone got comfortable for the encroaching darkness as the sound of the nighttime insects began to fill the space once more.
"Uh, Miss Renko? How are we supposed to see the game when it gets too dark?"
"Here," she hands Star a large flashlight that she could even keep on for emergencies if she wanted. "That way, we still don't need any actual fire."
The Star Fairy clicks the flashlight on and off with enthusiasm before thanking Renko and resuming her time with the game. The other Fairies chatted amongst themselves and everyone grabbed what pillows they'd need for the night. Renko settled herself near one of the Tower's legs just as the first stars began to shine above them.

That was a view she really would miss again when she's gone...maybe it wouldn't hurt to pull out the Merry Doll again. Really savor the moment.

Upon looking inside her handbag to find the Doll buried within, the Physicist was surprised to see the shrunk-down Occult Ball resting just near the Merry Doll. It's glowing aura softly illuminated the doll's button eyes, Renko wondering when it might've had the chance to even end up there but knowing it wasn't the biggest concern to have right now. Everything felt just perfect. Even if the Shrine didn't end up healed from this, she still wouldn't have considered this a waste of anyone's time.
"Hey Luna, would you mind doing something about the beeping noise the game keeps making?"
With a wave of the Moon Fairy's hand, the device went totally silent and those who were starting to fall asleep breathed a collective sigh of relief. Before Renko could get a chance to consider reading any of her books to help her sleep, the college girl nodded off in the comfort of the fabric to the quiet sounds of conversation & nature itself. She held the Merry Doll close as everything faded away...

Only for her vision to return after what only felt like a minute of rest. Renko blinked up at the full night sky above, surprisingly refreshed for it only being 11PM. She raised herself up and spotted Daiyousei sitting on the end of the log, letting the light of the stars act as her guide for playing Judge. Renko scanned the area for the flashlight, the rest of the Fairies sound asleep, before finally spotting it right next to her...

Her...hand? That was her arm too, wasn't it? Renko stared in complete confusion at the double-image of her opaque hand raised above a seemingly lifeless duplicate. She immediately stood while looking down to see her unconscious body resting comfortably in the blankets below.
She knew what was going on, though had only ever experienced it through Maribel's intentional assistance. She was lucid dreaming through a projected dream self..! All on her own! But how??
She supposes that a land as Ancient as Gensokyo truly must be rife with Secrets on all levels after all...

She closed her eyes in contemplation, though no longer recognized her immediate surroundings upon opening them again. Something about the air was different, even the sky looked like it had changed slightly! The stars immediately told her that time had indeed somehow advanced a full hour during...whatever just happened. She was still in Gensokyo, but where was the Forest? And the great Mountain that sat beyond the Lake? That should still be visible from most places, right?
Looking around revealed an overgrown forest much thicker and more primal than even the Forest of Magic sitting just behind her. Ahead of the girl lay an empty field dotted with the colors of Fall. After a moment of her eyes adjusting however, Renko spotted what seemed like several large figures lying around fast asleep in distant areas throughout the field. Some appeared to have great weapons, and one was even resting near a crackling firepit. Her clothing looked to be little more than dyed animal skin, greyed hair frizzing out in all directions. The confusing sight made the sleeping Physicist begin to back away ever-so-slowly into the foliage behind her.
Until an unexpected and unknown voice came out of nowhere to greet her.
"It's dangerous to be lost in a Sanctuary like this at night, girly."
Renko shouted and fell to the ground in surprise as a hidden pair of cool, silvery-scaled eyes peered back at her from the nearby bushes. It's fanged smile glinted in the moonlight as it laughed at the sight, Renko wishing that she'd ended up Anywhere Else but here...
