Same, I also don't like how they made the Serponians more cartoony in their proportions in the anime.
I prefer them looking like dudes with silly helmets.

The manga has a kind of "locally produced tv show" look, like Kamen Rider or Doctor Who, where the cheapness is kind of part of the aesthetic. Which I feel the show ignored.
