The Synchrotron thing is just a wild unproven theory but when we take into account the "as above so below" aspect of things and how our objects down here are like the rest of the Universe some things start to make sense.
Einstein said that time was like a loaf of bread and each slice was a moment, like the frame of a videogame.
If reality is indeed virtual like the Matrix implies and "frame based" like a videgame, what is running/cycling these frames into a coherent experience? Perhaps Saturn The God of Time?
The Ancient Greeks were not as ignorant as we make them out to be today, through their mystery rites and use of altered states of consciousness they could have very well perceived these dimensional machinations.
