Pokrovsk comes from Пoкpoв which refers to the Protecting Veil of Our Lady. The city was renamed from Kranoarmeysk as part of de-russification in 2016, but it's one of the better names given by Banderastan, nothing deserving of mockery (except the fact there's a clear disconnect between claiming Orthodox heritage while being ruled by Jews). The original pre-Soviet name was Grishino.
