Fair enough. But it's still 500m people living there. You never know if more people get into vidya. Not saying everyone will, as your point is more accurate with buying power. Just that it's impossible to sometimes calculate who will buy what. For example Nintendo used to think people here didn't have buying power, but Sony proved them wrong with Playstation.
Tho to be honest, Nintendo started console business when Berlin wall was still up so it's understandable view from nippon side.
