Anyone involved in engineering/testing/recovering classified tech is going to be working in a very compartmentalized and scrutinized controlled environment. These people all sign NDAs and are monitored. They don't talk about their work, and if they do talk they lose their job and possibly go to prison.
And then there's the disinformation aspect as well. There are organizations whose main task is to "leak" information to the public to misinform and confuse them. Sometimes it's very mundane, sometimes it's wild stories that stretch credulity. But it's false information with the only intent to mislead people down the wrong rabbit hole so they don't pay attention to what is really happening.
The problem is being able to tell the difference between what is rooted in reality and what is complete BS. The best lies have an element of truth in them, and the truth is never 100% accurate. So take whatever you are told about any subject related to black projects with a huge grain of salt, and use common sense.
