“Mercy! Sap Gloves!”

Immediately, the cloth that made up your gloves retreated further into your costume, rolling down your arms to make room for a pair of bronze gauntlets. You shoved your hands into them next, allowing Mercy to alter them to your liking. They looked and felt more like heavy duty work gloves, but you could feel the ambient magic radiating off of them. These were the real deal. All you had to do was attune to it.

The telltale rainbow shimmer flashed over the gauntlets for a second, and your skin buzzed with the sudden surge of mana, confirming that you had attuned to them properly.

Experimentally, you pointed an open palm at one of the evacuation grates and flexed your fingers. A glob of golden, sticky sap oozed from tiny openings in the gauntlet's fingers, coating your palm and remaining stuck there like a viscous jelly. You spread your fingers, watching with mild interest as the sap clumped together, but refused to drip down onto the floor. Must be a product of the enchantment. At least you didn't have to worry about making too much of a mess with these things.

You curled your fingers, rolled some of the sap up into a ball, and flicked it at the nearest excavation grate. The ball sped up as soon as it left your hand, nailing a groaning zombie right in the eye, and causing its head to rock back a bit.

You stared at the glove in surprise for a moment, before rolling up an even bigger ball and flicking it with even more force. The next glob flew as fast as a dodgeball thrown by Ari, and hit nearly as hard. And due to the increased volume of this one, it was able to cover a larger surface area. In this case, it was large enough to nearly cover the entire opening!

The zombies' noises were greatly muffled as they struggled to extricate themselves from the sticky trap. This might actually work!

“Dammit!”

Your gaze traveled up towards a struggling Deadhead. He was currently fighting off his own horde of zombies.

One climbed up and lunged at him, only to collide with a heavy black boot that caved its entire face in. Another came crawling up to take its place, and with a heavy stomp, Deadhead managed to crush and pin its arm. He reached down, gripped the arm, and ripped it out of its socket, and stabbed the jagged bone into its head.

He dragged the arm out, kicked the corpse off of the house's ledge, and twisted around to stab it through the eye socket of another zombie that had been creeping up on him. The blue berserker immediately moved to rip both of its arms off, and then proceeded to viciously beat the other nearby zombies with them. A moment later, Harpy descended on them like the monstrous raptor she, her powerful talons tearing through their rotten flesh with unsettling ease. She made multiple passes, rapidly swooping down and around in an impressive display of aerial agility.

“Whoa…” you said, marveling at the-
