This fight got me thinking about the word Earth

We IRL use earth to describe essentially the combination of elements that make up the ground beneath us that aren't quite stone (dirt combined with metals, carbon, etc), but do we call it that because we named our planet Earth?

I would say that maybe something similar could have happened for the Alexandrians, but it's not the only instance of the word Earth in XIV, Earthshakers are another example
