My personal take on Box of Calamity is that people enjoy Takumi schizoing out so much that they're willing to ignore how shaky the route's writing is. The Shouma character assassination, the reveal of a button that turns off the missiles, Takumi not giving a shit when Nozomi blows up, Nozomi having a bomb in her for this route at all, Hiruko setting Kako-G loose on multiple timelines, Shion becoming a weird exposition bot, it's all so weird when you pull back and start looking at it seriously.
