As for surt/abyssal power, the way that I read Skirk's story, it seems as if he's preying on civilizations that are powerful but decidedly not powerful enough to contest him. What does a solar system's technology mean to someone that can flawlessly wield unironic magic? who is a lesser god formed from belief against someone that is empowered by a force that erodes reality and probably engaged in terrorism to disabuse the believers?

the entire point of genshin, the theme interwoven into every single story to some capacity and every single element of the plot, is that a sufficiently strong will can sometimes overcome literal fate (i,e gods i,e an impossibly strong deity level entity) and that fear of defeat in the face of insurmountable odds should not shake your resolve
this is why people have visions, it is why the twins were summoned to tevyat, it is why khaenriah reached heights never before achieved by any civilization and why it experienced its commensurable fall, it is why nibelung got carved up and made into the gnoses, why orobashi sacrficied himself, why all of the sinners became corrupted by abyssal magic, etc...
its so fucking funny that shoneniggers, who willl praise the courage and strength of gary stus in their mickey mouse universes, immediately run away with cum dribbling down their legs not even after the first fight but at the first sign of adversity
