The term Chud is derived from the film of the same name. What the "left" were going for is basically saying disgusting monsters. The issue with this however is that the film C.H.U.D. is in reality a 20th century horror homage to H.G Wells' The Time Machine. The CHUDs are modeled after the Morlocks who in turn are an allegory for the Proletariat. This theme runs deeper than just the obvious physical parallels of being subterranean flesh eating humanoids. Like the Morlocks the CHUDs are born from the beleaguered working class and the transformation the result of the actions of an uncaring, corrupt, and exploitive elite who in turn become the helpless prey of those they previously exploited. CHUD = The Proletariat. Or Volk if that's more your jam.

In an age of propaganda and where reality has become indiscernible from lies, fabrications, and manipulation through intentional muddying of that waters any reality one wishes to believe becomes just as good as the real thing. The hyper reality of the information age is not one where knowledge and reason regins supreme. When one can not trust their mind and senses they can only follow their heart. It is a world where faith, not logic, is once again king. I reject your reality and substitute my own.
